To regulate and supervise the private security sector, the Ministry of Interior established the National Council of private security activities (CNAPS), operational since January 2012.

Statutory organization under the Ministry of Interior, the CNAPS has a threefold mission:

• administrative police (issuing approvals, licenses and professional card numbers)

• monitoring compliance with laws and regulations on private security as well as a code of conduct being developed

• advice and assistance to the profession
 
This council, accountability and morality tool for private security professionals, will be partly financed by a tax of 0.5% of the amount of sales before taxes / duty-free of security benefits and so that will be passed on to the customer's bill.
